► Subscribe to BattaBox on YouTube: http://goo.gl/4dgy2r (Nigeria Baby) It's why we love our African Mama's so much - they carried us on their backs for so long... but how do they do it? Especially when it is forbidden for the baby to fall o! (if they do you must run naked round the market!) "I'm an African woman so I use my wrapper to tie my baby and I make sure I tie it very well!" explains Mrs Tade James. "And if i see that he's not comfortable the way I'm tying him, I tell someone close to me to assist me." (Nigeria Baby) How-to carry your baby (African style!) ... find out here! There are rules attached to backing a baby at the early stage - "Your baby's hands must be inside, so that the neck can stay very well," explains another mother. "You have to fold your wrapper two or three...

At first i was soooooo scared but the more confident i became I LOVED it. This is something i do everday because it's so helpful. I can sit, use the bathroom(tmi) workout, clean. 'Infant' in this case refers to newborns and really small babies who are still "curled up" in a foetal position. The idea is to maintain that curled up position and not spread the feet out too much. We therefore keep the baby's legs inside the wrap. As your baby starts to stretch out its legs you can take the legs out as shown in the video for carrying older babies. Some babies are ready at 2weeks old but most will stretch out at 1month to a month and a half. If you are carrying a PRE-TERM baby, please consult with your medical team on how to best take advantage of your wrap for Kangaroo Care. You can use the wrap to carry your baby on your bare chest. In this case you will have to put the baby in the pocket but ease them partially out so that their skin touches your skin. You should h...

This is my Mum putting my one year old baby on her back using a traditional Chinese Mei Tai. This method does not require any tying of knots, just twists and tucks. It is very quick to get on and off. She starts with baby on the bed and her kneeling on the floor. This gets baby high up on her back right at the start. Visit snugglez.co.nz for more information and to view our selection of Mei Tais.

Peru, along with some other countries nearby to it in South America, have got their traditional piece of clothes called Manta which they use traditionally to carry small children or all kind of things on their back. To those who use modern slings, this Manta back carry might not look as secure as the modern slings, but it does. It's also good for us to know what babywearing is like on the other part of the world. Have fun watching!

Elephants are large mammals of the family Elephantidae and the order Proboscidea. Two species are traditionally recognised, the African elephant (Loxodonta africana) and the Asian elephant (Elephas maximus), although some evidence suggests that African bush elephants and African forest elephants are separate species (L. africana and L. cyclotis respectively). Elephants are scattered throughout sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. Elephantidae is the only surviving family of the order Proboscidea; other, now extinct, members of the order include deinotheres, gomphotheres, mammoths, and mastodons. Male African elephants are the largest extant terrestrial animals and can reach a height of 4 m (13 ft) and weigh 7,000 kg (15,000 lb). All elephants have several distinctive feature...
